About OilWatch
OilWatch is a price monitoring and alert platform that aggregates publicly available heating oil pricing information to help Connecticut homeowners make more informed purchasing decisions. OilWatch is not a heating oil supplier, dealer, broker, or purchasing agent.
Pricing Information — Important Disclaimer
OilWatch aggregates heating oil pricing data from multiple public sources to provide general market awareness. By using OilWatch you explicitly acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Prices are for informational purposes only. Pricing data displayed on OilWatch is sourced from publicly available listings and third-party sources. This information is provided as a convenience and general reference only.
- You must verify all pricing directly with the dealer. Before placing any heating oil order, you are solely responsible for contacting the dealer directly to confirm their current price per gallon, minimum delivery requirements, delivery availability, payment terms, and any applicable fees or surcharges.
- Prices are subject to change without notice. Heating oil prices fluctuate frequently based on market conditions, wholesale costs, weather, and dealer-specific factors. A price displayed on OilWatch may no longer be accurate by the time you contact a dealer. OilWatch makes no guarantee that any displayed price reflects the actual price a dealer will charge at the time of your order.
- OilWatch is not responsible for pricing discrepancies. Any difference between a price displayed on OilWatch and the actual price quoted or charged by a dealer is solely between you and that dealer. OilWatch has no involvement in, and accepts no liability for, any heating oil transaction.
- You are solely responsible for your purchasing decisions. OilWatch provides information to help you make more informed decisions. The decision of when to order, how much to order, and which dealer to use is entirely your own. OilWatch is not liable for any financial loss, missed opportunity, or other damages arising from your reliance on information displayed on our platform.
Subscription and Payments
OilWatch offers a free plan and a paid Pro plan at $7.00 per month. By subscribing to the Pro plan you authorize OilWatch to charge your payment method on a monthly recurring basis. Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. OilWatch does not store your payment card information.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use OilWatch for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to scrape, copy, or redistribute OilWatch data
- Share your account credentials with others
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the OilWatch platform
Service Availability
OilWatch is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OilWatch and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to damages resulting from reliance on pricing information, missed purchasing opportunities, or heating oil transactions.
OilWatch's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to OilWatch in the three months preceding the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OilWatch and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these terms.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of OilWatch after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via email.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
